Rosie Kasper Biography


Rosie was born and raised in a picturesque small town nestled in the foothills of the Swiss Alps. Growing up in a household where wine was a big part of daily life and culture. It didn’t take much to tickle Rosie’s natural curiosity and desire to find out more about this fascinating subject. After earning her Business Degree at the Chur Vocational College in Switzerland, Rosie followed her love and passion for wine, traveling extensively throughout Europe. Her travels led her to some of the most beautiful wine regions in the world.

Rosie moved from Switzerland to the U.S. in 1989. She has worked for over two decades with some of the most prominent wine estates in Sonoma County and Napa Valley, some of which were Kendall-Jackson Wine Estate, Napa Cellars, Joel Gott Wines, Trinchero Family Wine Estate, and Viansa Winery, primarily as a wine educator. In the 1990's, she owned and operated a restaurant in Sonoma County that served continental food with a California twist, using fresh ingredients and wines from the local area. This time in her life further enhanced her knowledge of wine and the importance of pairing each variety with the right food for the ultimate dining experience.

Rosie holds the following degrees: Certified Sommelier through the International Sommelier Guild, Certified Wine Educator, and Certified Specialist of Wine through the Society of Wine Educators.

Rosie currently teaches the Wine Certification Programs for the International Sommelier Guild in San Francisco.
